About Ventura Makos

We have assembled some of the best ocean lifeguards and Pro surfers from Ventura to kick off the 2008 summer! Our mission is to teach surfing, surf etiquette, ocean safety and respect for the ocean, oneself and others. We stress ocean safety education to all of our students as well as the importance of rip currents, wave judgment and selection, tides and lateral current. Knowledge that is of vital importance to the successful surfer/waterman. Our goal is to provide the most professional and safe surf experience to all of our students. Director Jeff Belzer is an Ocean Lifeguard and one of Ventura's top longboarders. Jeff's passion for surfing and the ocean are paramount in his desire to share his vast knowledge with all of our students.
